ADULTS

Our adult karate classes aim to help you improve your confidence, fitness, strength, co-ordination and flexibility. At RKKS all of our classes are held in a relaxed, fun and safe environment. The syllabus we train in is a complete 'American Kenpo' syllabus.  Offering a multitude of Self Defence Techniques, Short Form 1 to Form 6 and various training Sets, our classes run for 75 mins and will cover basics, self defence, forms practice and sparring.

 

The 'Basics' form the foundation of any martial arts, so we focus on these at the start

of every class. Our 'Sets' are a specific group of basics that are linked in flowing combinations & 'Forms' ('Kata' in Japanese). In Kenpo, we say that Forms show and teach us the rules and principles of Kenpo Motion. Our Self Defence techniques (which is normally around 6 for our Juniors and between 12-24 for our Adults) are pre-arranged basics that are generally practiced with another student attacking. We like to explain the principles and reasons behind all of the moves we practice, so that students can learn to understand why we are practicing it, not just how it's applied.
